Old Lawn Chairs

My eleven year old friend spotted these chairs by the side of the road. For her they just looked "cool" and she wanted them for her photography portfolio.
For me, they were memories of when everyone had this type of lawn furniture. You were really well off if you had four chairs AND a matching glider! That metal furniture was it during the sixties and seventies. I see them in catalogs--both newer and the old, as seen here. People are paying big money for the rusted iron. Maybe I should bought one and strapped it to the car.

  1. I just wanted to let you know that I attended a substitute training class you put on about 8 years ago. It was one of the best trainings I have ever attended and you thoroughly prepared me to go into the classroom as a substitute. Just months later I landed a job in the district. I have since moved out of state and am currently staying at home with my three young children, but I have never forgotten how well you prepared me to enter the classroom and how that training started an almost seven year long career in education that I truly loved. Thanks so much!

ps. I found an article you wrote about Cy Fair on Facebook and wanted to leave you a comment

  2. Twitch: You were one of the best teachers I've ever had. It was because of YOU that I majored in Poli Sci in college...and because of YOU that I didn't freak out during my first blue book exam. I have so many treasured memories of you and the Class of '87 at THS. All these years later, I am still very close to Mark Bateman. We've talked about you (several times!), and he has such wonderful memories of you as well. How lucky we were.

    Fondly,
